Our Mission

Providing free/subsidized hair services to 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and low-income individuals to aid in the curation of an outer appearance that reflects the most authentic inner self & instills confidence

Black Rose Beauty Louge has always been, and always will be a safe and inclusive space. In an effort to help ensure those experiencing barriers can access our services, the Black Rose Sponsorship Program was born.

I firmly believe that the right hair style can have a huge (life-changing, even) impact on the way we feel, how we present ourselves and our confidence level.

As someone who has struggled with gender dysphoria, and a lack of understanding of how to properly care for/style my hair when I was young, I hope that this program can offer gender-affirming hair services to as many queer youth as possible to make a difference before they reach adulthood.

I also want to ensure that my services are accessible to folks of all income levels, and those experiencing hardship as I believe the confidence that a proper hair service can instill can overflow into all areas of an individual's life. I am excited to bring that post-hair-service-glow to folks who need it most.

The Black Rose Sponsorship Program will rely on contributions from community members to sustain the demand for these services. Black Rose Beauty Lounge will match all contributions and 100% of collected funds will go directly towards subsidizing or completely covering the cost of hair services for individuals part of marginalized groups. Please consider making a contribution today to help someone right here in our community feel their best.

Services are offered on a pay-what-you-can structure, from $0 and up (no questions asked).Equity will be a priority factor in determining how funds are distributed. Priority is given to those with intersectional marginalized identities first (BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+folks, low-income, folks living with mental illness, disabled folks). If you do not hear back right away, please do not be discouraged; a waiting list will be created and your application will be filed for future events.
