Owner & Master Stylist
Cass (They/She)
Hey there!

Thank you so much for visiting our page, and I hope you're able to find what you're looking for at the studio. My name is Cassandra Rose, but please call me Cass! I am a queer non-binary white settler, and the owner/operator of Black Rose Beauty Lounge. I officially opened the doors of my own business September 4th 2019, but have amassed over a decade of professional experience working in the beauty industry, the majority of those years being in Alliston. I am so proud of the little space I have created, and I hope you love it as much as I do.
I grew up in Caledon East, with my mother and 3 younger brothers on a beautiful property where I have many fond memories. Hair artistry has been my primary interest for as long as I can remember, but as soon as I got myself into a salon through the co-op program in my final year of high school, I knew this was my passion and a career I was going to flourish in.
I attended post-secondary at a small, private beauty school in North York, where I was fortunate enough to gain experience with all different hair types, including textured hair. In 2012, I graduated with honours and landed a job in Alliston as a junior stylist. Since then I have spent countless hours dedicated to a wide variety of colour, styling and cutting classes. I love learning more about my craft and will forever be committed to continuing modern education to refine and update my skills throughout my career behind the chair.
When I am not at the salon you will find me mostly at home, reading, playing video games or creating some form of art or another while I cuddle up with my two cats Callie and Ceasar.
I think the most rewarding part of my job is the idea that I am able to help folks' outer self reflect the way they feel on the inside. The connection I form with my guests behind the chair is so special, and I am so blessed to have formed long lasting friendships with so many wonderful people. Maintaining the health of your hair and offering professional advice & education for at-home care while making your hair dreams come true is an integral part of my services.
I cherish all hair services, but there is a special place in my heart for creative colour. Something about painting unique hues in hair and being able to be creative is extremely fulfilling!

Advanced Stylist
Ashlyn (She/Her)
Hello, I’m Ashlyn!
I identify as queer/sapphic (although not bothered by other terms), and have been “out” with my identity since I was 18. I am originally from Alberta, but spent my teenage years in Alliston with my parents and three siblings. After spending a decade away from my hometown, I'm thrilled to return and join the BRBL team. Queer community is very important to me, and I wish to build a strong foundation of it here in my new, yet familiar, home.
I have been in love with the art of hair since I was a little girl, and in October of 2010 I started my dream career. I attended the apprenticeship program at Georgian College in Barrie and have spent the last 14 years growing my skills & knowledge. I feel that continued education is key in this industry, and I have attended many classes to fine tune my skills such as blonding/balayage, short cuts, curly hair, and special occasion hair, to name a few. While creative color and creative design feed my soul, I am a versatile stylist offering a broad range of services for any client.
When I am not in the salon, I enjoy spending time with my family and pets; watching movies and playing board games. I firmly believe that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, and I am excited to meet you to help bring your unique vision to life!
