Meet The Team

Owner & Senior Stylist
Cass (they/she)
Hey there!
Thank you so much for visiting our page, and I hope you're able to find what you're looking for at the studio. My name is Cassandra Rose, but please call me Cass! I am a queer non-binary white settler, and the owner/operator of Black Rose Beauty Lounge. I officially opened the doors of my own business September 4th 2019, but have spent nearly fifteen years of professional experience working in the beauty industry; the majority of those years being in Alliston. I am so proud of the little space we have created, and I hope you love it as much as I do. Hair artistry has been my primary interest for as long as I can remember, but as soon as I got myself into a salon through the co-op program in my final year of high school, I knew this was my passion and a career I was going to flourish in.
I attended a private beauty school in North York, where I was fortunate enough to gain experience with all different hair types. In 2012, I graduated with honours and landed a job in Alliston as a junior stylist. Since then I have spent countless hours dedicated to a wide variety of colour, styling and cutting classes. I love continuously learning about my craft and will forever be committed to continuing modern education to refine and update my skills.
When I am not at the salon you will find me mostly at home, reading, playing video games or creating some form of art or another while I cuddle up with my cat Ceasar.
I think the most rewarding part of my job is the idea that I am able to help folks' outer self reflect the way they feel on the inside. The connection I form with my guests behind the chair is so special, and I am so blessed to have formed long lasting friendships with so many wonderful people. Maintaining the health of your hair and offering professional advice & education for at-home care while making your hair dreams come true is an integral part of my services.
If I sound like the stylist for you, click the book button at the top of the page to get started. I can't wait to meet you!

Senior Stylist
Ashlyn (she/her)
Hello, I’m Ashlyn!
I identify as queer/sapphic (although not bothered by other terms), and have been “out” with my identity since I was 18. I am originally from Alberta, but spent my teenage years in Alliston with my parents and three siblings. After spending a decade away from my hometown, I'm thrilled to return and join the BRBL team. Queer community is very important to me, and I wish to build a strong foundation of it here in my new, yet familiar, home.
I have been in love with the art of hair since I was a little girl, and in October of 2010 I started my dream career. I attended the apprenticeship program at Georgian College in Barrie and have spent the last 14 years growing my skills & knowledge. I feel that continued education is key in this industry, and I have attended many classes to fine tune my skills such as blonding/balayage, short cuts, curly hair, and special occasion hair, to name a few. While creative color and creative design feed my soul, I am a versatile stylist offering a broad range of services for any client.
When I am not in the salon, I enjoy spending time with my family and pets; watching movies and playing board games. I firmly believe that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, and I am excited to meet you to help bring your unique vision to life!

Apprentice
Courtney (she/her)
Hi! I'm Courtney.
I grew up in Brampton, and have recently moved to Barrie. During my younger years, I spent a lot of time in a salon environment as my grandmother was a salon owner and my mother worked with her as an aesthetician. For as long as I can remember, I knew hairstyling was the career for me, but watching the happiness and confidence they could bring to their clients inspired me to pursue the career officially. I graduated Marca college during the peak of the pandemic in 2019 which made finding a steady apprenticeship placement difficult, but I persevered. I finally found Black Rose in January 2026 and was thrilled to find a safe and welcoming space that would foster my learning and growth.
My passion lands with creative colour and I would love to eventually specialize in major transformation services. I am seeking guests who are looking for bold, colourful, and imaginative looks, while willing to allow me to expand my skills.
While not behind the chair, you can find me reading fantasy and spending time with my cats and other unique pets - they are my world!
